FALLEN

STARGATE COMMAND, BRIEFING ROOM. General Landry and SG-1 are discussing their next moves.

LANDRY: Any update on the stargate system, Carter?

CARTER: No, sir. We’re still unable to dial in or out of the system. I’m trying to narrow down a starting point of when and where this all started. It might help us figure out what’s causing this. But it’s difficult to pinpoint all that when I can’t even access the system.

LANDRY: (thinking) While you all were off-world a while back on Langara, I decided to reach out to all of our allies and see if they were having the same issues with the Ori as the Kelownans were. I was successfully able to contact them all except for the Tok’ra. I didn’t think much of it at the time.

CARTER: You think the Tok’ra may have done something to the stargate system?

LANDRY: Just a hunch. One that I think we should look into. We also need to know if they’ve come across the Ori since last we talked to them. Those two things are enough for me to authorize a trip. Mitchell, Vala, I need you to take the Odyssey on a recon trip to the Tok’ra home world. Hopefully there’s nothing wrong, but we should check in on them anyways. If the Ori have attacked the Tok’ra, then we need to act quickly. Kelowna should have taught us a valuable lesson in waiting around.

MITCHELL: Yes, sir.

VALA: Tok’ra home world? Is it nice?

MITCHELL: Oh, I’m sure you’ll love it. It’s full of parasitic creatures cooperating with their hosts instead of controlling them.

VALA: Hmmm. You don’t think me once being a Goa’uld would make them give me the cold shoulder?

MITCHELL: Nah, if you’re lucky, I’m sure they’ll offer you another symbiote.

VALA: Very funny.

LANDRY: I’m keeping the rest of SG-1 on standby for now. Carter, the second you come up with another potential solution let me know.

ONBOARD THE ODYSSEY. Mitchell and Vala are heading through hyperspace onboard the Earth vessel to the Tok’ra homeworld.

VALA: Where exactly is the Tok’ra homeworld? I thought the Tok’ra liked to keep on the move and stay in secret.

MITCHELL: Yes, that was the plan, but with the Goa’uld effectively reduced in the galaxy, the Tok’ra decided to set up their homeworld on one of the outlying planets in the galaxy. We just recently learned of it. They were quite reluctant to give it away; they’ve always been a little hesitant of our alliance. Apparently, the planet is called Olivos.

VALA: The Tok’ra didn’t even trust the Tau’ri with its location?

MITCHELL: No, not until recently. However, once the Ori threatened the galaxy, they changed their minds.

VALA: They aren’t able to infiltrate the ranks of the Goa’uld through secrecy anymore. The Priors would sniff them out.

MITCHELL: Exactly. They’re not cut out for a strength on strength confrontation with the Ori so they’ve been forced to place more trust in our alliance. The Tok’ra are a dying race, and one of our few remaining allies in this galaxy. And we’ve been unable to contact them through the stargate.

VALA: You think they were attacked by the Ori?

MITCHELL: We’ll soon find out.

JACOBSON: Exiting hyperspace.

(The Odyssey arrives from a hyperspace window near the atmosphere of a dark, black planet. On the bridge, an alarm sounds once.)

SCIENCE OFFICER: We are being hailed. I don’t see any contacts in the area.

MITCHELL: They’re probably cloaked.

JACOBSON: Open a channel.

TOK’RA: (over radio) Unknown vessel, you have entered Tok’ra space. Identify yourselves.

JACOBSON: (over radio) This is Colonel Jacobson of the Tau’ri vessel Odyssey. We request a meeting with the Tok’ra High Council and ask for permission to land.

TOK’RA: (over radio) Hold your position here while I relay your request.

VALA: I take it that the Tok’ra don’t like receiving visitors.

MITCHELL: Hopefully they’ll make an exception for us.

TOK’RA: (over radio) Permission to land is denied. You will transport your crew to these coordinates. Your ship is to remain in orbit. Any movement will be considered a threat and we will take responsive measures.

SCIENCE OFFICER: We’re receiving planetary coordinates.

JACOBSON: Looks like they want you two to go on alone. Want any back-up?

MITCHELL: We’ll be fine.

JACOBSON: Remember, Colonel, be nice. Do whatever they want. All we need is some information on whether the Ori have approached them and why we can’t contact them through the stargate.

MITCHELL: Just keep our seats warm up here. We’ll keep in touch. Beam us to the coordinates.

(Mitchell and Vala are beamed off the Odyssey)

OLIVOS. Mitchell and Vala arrive inside a small prison cell. Outside the cell were three armed Tok’ra.

VALA: Hiya, fellows.

TOK’RA: What is your purpose for coming here?

MITCHELL: Well, you know, we thought we’d come by for a little talk. Keep everyone in the loop on what’s been going on on our end.

TOK’RA: You have not answered my question!

MITCHELL: And I thought we don’t interrogate our allies? Maybe if you let us out of this prison cell then we’d agree to answer your questions. We are the Tau’ri, you know. Not the Goa’uld.

(Two more Tok’ra appear from the corridor on the left and approached the cell.)

NEW TOK’RA: Omac, what is going on here? You were supposed to bring the Tau’ri to the High Council Chamber immediately.

OMAC: We cannot trust anyone just because they happen to be from the Tau’ri, Glamris.

GLAMRIS: The Tau’ri are our allies. Release them at once.

OMAC: (reluctantly) As you wish.

(The three Tok’ra lower their weapons as Omac opens the cell door. Mitchell and Vala walk out.)

GLAMRIS: I apologize for my friend’s behavior. Things have become hectic the last few days.

(He begins to lead them down the left corridor.)

MITCHELL: Don’t mention it. We’d be suspicious as well. What’s happened?

GLAMRIS: That is not for me to discuss. The Council will inform you on those issues. I admit that your arrival here has sparked some controversy on the Council itself.

VALA: Have you been having any trouble with your stargate?

(Glamris stopped in the corridor and looked at them.)

GLAMRIS: Why do you ask?

MITCHELL: That’s really why we’re here. We’ve been trying to contact you through the gate but we haven’t been able to make a connection.

GLAMRIS: Interesting. Since you mention it, our stargate has been doing strange things. Every once in a while, it will try to create a wormhole, but then shut off by itself and send a shockwave out from it. Then, most of our equipment in the immediate area is shut down.

(Glamris started walking down the corridor again.)

GLAMRIS: Come. The Council is waiting.

OLIVOS, TOK’RA HIGH COUNCIL CHAMBER. Mitchell and Vala are in the room, which looked like a courtroom. In front of them, situated on a high panel, were five Tok’ra. Behind them, in the audience, were about a dozen more Tok’ra.

PER’SUS: As High Councilor, I would like to welcome our guests and allies from the Tau’ri, Colonel Mitchell and Vala Mal Doran, who have requested a presence with the Council. The Council is prepared to listen to any statement that the Tau’ri have.

MITCHELL: Thank you, Councilor, I come on behalf of the Tau’ri by means of spaceship because we have been unable to contact you through the stargate. We became concerned that perhaps you were overcome by the Ori, so we were sent on a reconnaissance mission.

(The Councilors looked at each other, also concerned.)

PER’SUS: It is strange that you should come to us seeking information about the Ori when the Ori have also come to us seeking information about the Tau’ri.

VALA: The Ori have been here, then?

HOLIS, COUNCILOR: Quite so. A Prior arrived a few weeks ago seeking to spread Origin amongst us. He also desired the gate location to the Tau’ri homeworld and an iris code.

MITCHELL: You told him no, right?

HOLIS: The Tok’ra are not the type to abandon its allies during times of war. Your secrets are safe from the Prior.

PER’SUS: The Tok’ra were not interested in his words. Once we learned about his devotion to false gods, we quickly told him to leave.

HOLIS: False gods should not be allowed any leverage. His words may spark followers through weak-minded individuals.

PER’SUS: However, before he left, a few Tok’ra decided to take matters into their own hands. They attacked this follower of false gods. It was not a very wise move.

HOLIS: He had no right to persuade our people, Per’sus.

PER’SUS: Nevertheless, we lost thirteen good Tok’ra in that ill-fated attack.

HOLIS: How were we supposed to know that a single Prior would be almost unstoppable?

MITCHELL: Did you destroy the Prior?

PER’SUS: No, which makes the loss even harder to bear. At a time when our numbers are dwindling at an alarming rate, we cannot afford any huge losses like that.

VALA: Have the Ori come back?

PER’SUS: No, but we suspect that the Prior did something to our stargate. Ever since then, any outgoing wormhole has been stifled.

MITCHELL: We’re having the same problem.

HOLIS: Did a Prior visit your world as well?

MITCHELL: Not recently, no.

HOLIS: Then I fail to see the connection.

MITCHELL: Look, it’s obvious you ticked off the Ori. So have we. It can’t just be chance that both of our stargates aren’t working properly anymore.

PER’SUS: Have you figured out what is wrong with the stargate yet?

MITCHELL: We know it’s an Ori plan having to do with their invasion, but not the specifics, but we will. Colonel Carter is working on it right now.

(Behind them, the doors are opened and another Tok’ra hurries into the room, starting a commotion in the audience.)

PER’SUS: We are in the middle of a meeting.

RUNNER: I’m sorry, Councilor. I bring dire news from our base on Antessa. Two Ori ships have destroyed the base and killed everyone there. They were unable to connect to our stargate and their ships were destroyed. There were no survivors.

(There was more commotion in the audience.)

PER’SUS: Silence! Order the War Council to meet in fifteen minutes. I’m sorry, Colonel Mitchell, but for your own safety you must leave Olivos.

MITCHELL: What are you going to do?

HOLIS: This is not a Tau’ri matter.

MITCHELL: Hey, we’re allies. We’re fighting the Ori, too. Maybe we can help.

PER’SUS: I’m sorry, Colonel, but Holis is right. We will take matters into our own hands.

VALA: Well, with the stargate down, we need another way to keep our communication channels open.

PER’SUS: What do you suggest?

VALA: We can keep a cloaked scout ship in orbit and one of us can stay in contact with the Odyssey via subspace communications. Then, the Odyssey can relay the information to Stargate command.

(The Council looked at each other, whispering.)

HOLIS: Only in an observation mode. There shall be no interfering with our plans or knowledge of what we are doing.

VALA: Of course.

PER’SUS: Very well. Who will do it?

MITCHELL: I will.

VALA: What? This was my idea, Mitchell.

MITCHELL: Vala, you want to do this?

VALA: Of course. Why wouldn’t I?

MITCHELL: You want to be in a scout ship all by yourself with no one to talk to.

VALA: It is better than the alternative.

MITCHELL: Which is?

VALA: If I go back, then I will eventually face Tomin. I’ve been trying to avoid him. So far it’s worked.

MITCHELL: He’s your husband. How is that bad?

VALA: It’s still very shaky between us. Now that he knows the Ori are false gods, I’m sure he doesn’t like the fact that we brought into existence the Orici.

MITCHELL: But you said you two never…

VALA: Well he was still around. Please, Mitchell let me do this.

MITCHELL: Alright. I want a report every twenty-four hours. The Odyssey will rendezvous with you every three days to resupply. (over radio) Jacobson, one to beam up. And Vala, good luck.

(Mitchell disappeared, leaving Vala on the Tok’ra homeworld.)

ONBOARD A CLOAKED CARGO SHIP IN ORBIT AROUND OLIVOS, TOK’RA HOMEWORLD. Vala is at the controls, checking instruments and listening to a message from the Tok’ra High Council. It’s been thirteen days since the attack on Antessa. A holohram of Councillor Per’sus is on her dashboard.

VALA: Are you sure? I mean it’s only been…

PER’SUS: Two weeks. And we’re quite sure. Although we haven’t been able to use the stargate, we were able to send scouts to our other bases in the galaxy. It took considerably longer, however we were able to see first-hand the total destruction that has overcome us. The Ori have annihilated every Tok’ra not on Olivos.

VALA: There must be some survivors out there somewhere.

PER’SUS: Rescue parties were sent a week ago. They have all come back with bad news. The Ori know of this planet. It is only a matter of time before they come here. We must implement our plan before they arrive.

VALA: What about the Tok’ra spying on the Goa’uld.

PER’SUS: They have all been called back. We will need every available Tok’ra and resource at our disposal for the project.

VALA: What is your plan?

PER’SUS: We must move quickly to secure the future of our race. There are only a few hundred of us left here on Olivos. Most were offworld. I hate to say it, but because there are less of us, it will be easier to leave Olivos. We may be a dying race, but we will not die anytime soon. Not on my watch. We shall spread ourselves out in the galaxy, to prevent the Ori from following any one ship and finding us again. We may even travel to the very edge of the outer systems. At the very least, this means that we shall be incapable of any future help to the Tau’ri.

VALA: I’m sure they would understand the situation. What do you need from us?

PER’SUS: If things should get worse, and we are not able to flee Olivos before the Ori arrive, we will need their help in protecting the evacuating ships. We only possess a few Motherships, and they cannot withstand the power of the Ori weaponry.

VALA: If there had been more time, I’m sure Colonel Carter would have implemented the Asgard technology onto the Tok’ra Motherships.

PER’SUS: Some here believe that the Tau’ri did that purposefully, not trusting the Tok’ra with that advanced technology.

VALA: They would not do that. They’ve been having trouble placing it on their own ships, which already had several Asgard designs on them.

PER’SUS: I did not say I believed that! I said some believed it. It matters not now. If the Ori do show up, our Motherships will only be a momentary distraction. We need help from the Tau’ri. Tell your people the evacuation will begin today and to arrive with as many ships as possible.

(Per’sus hologram disappeared, leaving Vala to work on re-transmitting the message via subspace to Stargate Command.)

STARGATE COMMAND, BRIEFING ROOM. General Landry and SG-1 minus Vala are sitting around a table.

LANDRY: I just received word that you’re still unable to fix the stargate, Colonel Carter.

CARTER: No, sir. By Tomin’s account, the Ori had built a fleet of stargates to dial in to every available stargate in this galaxy simultaneously. Every attempt at a workaround to get a wormhole out has failed.

LANDRY: But that’s not what’s going on. There’s no wormhole on the other side.

CARTER: Exactly. I think the strain of connecting so many connections between galaxies is too much for the system to handle at one time.

MITCHELL: Weren’t you able to dial all of the gates simultaneously on Dakara to destroy the replicators?

CARTER: Yes, but that was a little different. Those were connections in our own galaxy. These are connections from the Ori galaxy. You all know the kind of energy requirements just to operate a single wormhole from one galaxy to another.

JACKSON: It took a ZPM to create a wormhole to Atlantis.

CARTER: Right. Now, multiply that energy output by millions and you have a serious amount of energy needed.

TEAL’C: Could not the Ori create another singularity like they did with the SuperGate?

CARTER: The singularity couldn’t give off its energy to so many stargates, it would only work with one big one.

MITCHELL: What about all those extra stargates we saw on our side of the SuperGate?

CARTER: They may be attempting to bridge the connection – somehow utilizing a midpoint stargate to reduce the energy output needed. But whatever they’re being used for, it hasn’t worked for them yet.

LANDRY: So if the Ori can’t create their wormholes, then why aren’t we able to dial out or receive any wormholes from this galaxy?

CARTER: That’s just it. I don’t know. The Ori are only attempting to connect every once in a while. That’s when we receive those energy jumps and power outages. However, the rest of the time the stargates are inoperable. It’s possible that the system has crashed after each attempt and it takes a while to reboot itself. Then, the Ori dial again.

LANDRY: So there’s no way to dial out then?

CARTER: Not that I’ve figured out yet, sir.

LANDRY: Well then that brings up a problem. Most of our teams were here when the stargate began acting up. All but one. SG-14 has been stranded off-world for two weeks and counting. I don’t think I need to remind any of you about the military’s stance on leaving men behind.

MITCHELL: Where were they?

LANDRY: On a small mining world. It’s been deserted for centuries, but we had hoped to find some raw minerals. Then, we discovered that there were Ancient writings spread out across the planet. We sent SG-14 to translate it. They’ve been spending months on it. This is their fourth trip out.

MITCHELL: Expecting any trouble?

LANDRY: There doesn’t seem to be any danger, but I’m sure they’re about as confused with what’s happening as we are. We need to bring them back. I’ve told Colonel Jacobson to prepare the Odyssey for your arrival. SG-1 you have a go. Bring our boys back home.

(Sergeant Walter walks in.)

WALTER: Sorry to interrupt, sir.

LANDRY: What is it, Walter?

WALTER: We just received a message from Vala.

STARGATE COMMAND, CONTROL ROOM. SG-1 and General Landry are listening to a message from Vala Mal Doran.

VALA: (over transmission) The Tok’ra are planning on evacuating Olivos. Apparently they think the Ori have found out where they are and are heading this way. They’re asking for our help. They want our ships to protect their evacuation if the Ori do show up. Will wait for a reply. Vala out.

JACKSON: Sir, we have to help them. If the Ori –

LANDRY: I know, Jackson, and I agree, but this is out of my hands. If they wanted just one ship then I could make the call, but to send in every ship we have is a different matter. I’ll have to call the President and get his approval.

CARTER: What about SG-14?

LANDRY: The Odyssey will continue its mission. Our people come first, and it’s questionable if I’ll even get permission to send the entire fleet.

ONBOARD A CLOAKED CARGO SHIP, ORBITING OLIVOS. Vala is at the controls of the ship. Out in space in front of the ship, a hyperspace wormhole opened. One Ori ship arrived, but does not detect Vala because she is cloaked.

VALA: Uh-oh. (she types into the command console in front of her. A hologram of Per’sus appeared on her dashboard.) Tok’ra Command, this is Vala. An Ori ship has just arrived out of hyperspace.

PER’SUS: We know.

VALA: How’s the evacuation coming?

PER’SUS: Our people are still loading the first transport ships. We haven’t even begun pre-takeoff checks.

VALA: Well, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but you need to quicken your pace a bit.

PER’SUS: Where are the Tau’ri vessels? You said that they would come.

VALA: They’ll come. In the meantime, you need to take care of this ship. It’s just one, looks like a scout.

PER’SUS: We’re scrambling our fleet now.

(Vala watched as gliders and Alkesh approached from the atmosphere of Olivos. From around the bend of the planet, three Ha’tak motherships arrived. They all started shooting at the Ori ship. The Ori ship returned fire with its energy beam, hitting the Ha’tak mothership in the center and annihilating it. Several Ori fighters poured out of the main ship to engage the gliders. Vala watched the battle but did not intervene.)

PER’SUS: We cannot withstand their firepower for much longer!

VALA: You need to bring in all your forces now!

PER’SUS: It is just one Ori ship. When the others get here, we will have nothing left to defend ourselves.

VALA: And if you don’t put them all in now, then you’ll have one more Ori ship to worry about.

(There is a silence on the other end. Out in space, the Ori ship blasted another Ha’tak and destroyed it. The gliders were being annihilated by the fighters. One Alkesh tried a bombing run on the Ori ship, but its shields were too powerful and the bombs were deflected. The Alkesh was shot down from behind by Ori fighters. Then, another hyperspace window appeared behind the Ori ship and the remainder of the Tok’ra fleet – Ha’tak vessels, six of them, appeared at the Ori ship’s rear. However, the combined firepower on the Ori ship had no effect.)

PER’SUS: It’s no use. Their shields are too strong. We must order our soldiers to ram the ship. It is our only option.

VALA: You’re going to waste their lives!

PER’SUS: We must try it! If we do not succeed, Olivos will fall before the first Tok’ra evacuates.

(In space, three of the Ha’taks break off from the others and start to ram the Ori ship. The Ori ship fired its energy beam at one, cutting it in two. The other two slammed into the Ori ship’s shields and miraculously, the shield failed and the Ori ship exploded in a fireball with the two Ha’tak ships. There is cheering coming from the Tok’ra communication.)

PER’SUS: Our soldiers have defeated the Ori!

(Vala cannot help but smile. However, out in space, another hyperspace window appeared and four more Ori ships arrive. They quickly fire and destroy the remaining Ha’tak and Alkesh vessels.)

PER’SUS: Our fleet has been destroyed.

VALA: You have to evacuate your people now!

PER’SUS: Where are the Tau’ri?! They promised us! Our evacuation ships will be shot out of the sky if we try to leave now, and the stargate has been inoperable for some time. We are sending out distress calls to the Jaffa and Tau’ri and anyone else who cares to listen.

VALA: Just give it some more time, I’m sure –

PER’SUS: (after a pause) What is it?

(Out in space, the Ori fighters were moving towards her cloaked position.)

VALA: I think they know where I am.

PER’SUS: Impossible. How?

VALA: They must have picked up on our communications!

PER’SUS: Get out of there!

(Vala jumped into the seat just as the first blast hit her cargo ship.)

VALA: I’m hit! (The cloak disengaged and Vala maneuvered the ship towards the planet’s atmosphere. Another shot rocked the ship and she lost control.) I can’t steer it anymore! I’m going down hard!

(The ship plummeted to the ground, tipping upright at the last second and collided with the ground. It rumbled for a few hundred yards before finally coming to a stop. Inside, Vala looked up from her seat, blood trickling down her forehead.)

IN ORBIT AROUND UNKNOWN PLANET. The Odyssey arrived from a hyperspace window. SG-1 is beamed down to the surface. They meet up with SG-14 in front of ruins.

MITCHELL: Fellas. (nods to SG-14 team)

PETERS: Colonel Mitchell, glad to see you guys. We’ve been stuck out here for two weeks and the stargate isn’t working. Was about to think ya’ll had forgotten about us.

MITCHELL: Well, we’re here to bring you back. The Odyssey is waiting in orbit. Come on, here are your tracking bracelets.

JACKSON: (looking at the walls of the ruined, half-standing building) You might want to hold off on that, Mitchell.

MITCHELL: Why?

TEAL’C: Have you found something important, Daniel Jackson?

JACKSON: Maybe. There’s writing here.

CARTER: Ancient?

PETERS: Yes, we found that earlier. We tried to translate it, but it isn’t exactly Ancient.

JACKSON: No, it’s not. It’s similar to the writings found in the Temple where Ba’al took us.

MITCHELL: You mean writing for the Ancients that wanted to follow the Ori?

JACKSON: Yes.

MITCHELL: And why would any Ascended being want to follow the ways of the Ori?

JACKSON: Oh, besides the whole galactic domination and billions of human worshipers?

MITCHELL: Yeah, all that.

TEAL’C: Can you decipher the writings?

JACKSON: Some of it. Like inside the Temple, I can only make out slight similarities in the words.

MITCHELL: Anything important?

JACKSON: Well, it says that this planet was the secret homeworld of a group called the Forgotten Brotherhood.

CARTER: The what?

JACKSON: Forgotten Brotherhood. Apparently it’s what the Ori-followers called themselves.

MITCHELL: Makes sense. The Ancients and the Ori were basically brothers and these guys wanted to follow the old ways.

JACKSON: The Brotherhood revered the Ori ways and was displeased that the Alterans abandoned them for a new galaxy.

MITCHELL: Why didn’t they just stay behind?

CARTER: I’m sure they had connections with several Alterans and wouldn’t want to leave their families and friends. They just had a different belief system than most.

JACKSON: It states that the Brotherhood tried to follow the ways of the Ori to make their followers worship them. However, the Others wouldn’t allow them to get far.

MITCHELL: Ah yes, the Others not letting ascended beings use their powers. We know how frustrating that can be.

TEAL’C: Indeed.

JACKSON: So they – (pauses)

(SG-1 looks at each other)

CARTER: They what?

JACKSON: (turning to the others) They created the Clavus Theressa Infiniatis.

CARTER: The Brotherhood created it?

JACKSON: Well it’s not that hard to believe. Everyone in this galaxy seems to know little or nothing about it, and these guys would be powerful enough to create a weapon capable of eliminating Ascended beings. And they followed the ways of the Ori.

MITCHELL: Does it say where the Clavus is?

JACKSON: (turned back to the ruins) Yes. It’s on P4C-712, across a ‘chasm of darkness’.

TEAL’C: The chasm that Ba’al was trying to cross. And the one that the Prior showed up to.

JACKSON: Seems so.

CARTER: How do we get across?

MITCHELL: Assuming that Prior didn’t already get his hands on it.

JACKSON: (reading) It doesn’t say.

MITCHELL: That was incredibly unhelpful.

JACKSON: Wait, there’s more. The Others tried to stop them and all-out war was declared. It talks about a confrontation on the Ascended level and then the writings abruptly end.

CARTER: Ancient-Ancient fighting? How does that work?

JACKSON: Well, I saw Oma fighting Anubis, but it was more of a continuous battle to keep him occupied. That may have just been Oma’s way of redeeming herself for her mistakes, but if Merlin could create a weapon to destroy ascended beings then I’m sure the Brotherhood could use the Clavus in the same manner. Maybe they created a weapon but never got the chance to use it.

MITCHELL: No tales about how the battle ended?

JACKSON: No. Maybe that means that the Brotherhood was forced to leave?

MITCHELL: More like they were wiped out by the Ancients. Does it say exactly what the Clavus is?

JACKSON: Only that it stored the Brotherhood’s knowledge and technology. There was also a weapon of Ori design. One capable of gathering the energy of a galaxy of humans.

CARTER: To what end?

JACKSON: It doesn’t say.

CRASHED CARGO SHIP, OLIVOS. Vala slowly stood up, wounded from the crash. She exited the ship. Overhead, a few Ori fighters fly, chasing a Tok’ra vessel. Vala watched as the Tok’ra ship was destroyed. It crashed into the forest a few hundred meters away in a fireball.

UNKNOWN: Halt!

(Vala turned around to face several Tok’ra with their weapons aimed at her.)

VALA: Don’t shoot!

TOK’RA: You are not Ori.

VALA: No, I’m Vala. I was orbiting in space.

TOK’RA: (lowered weapon) The Tau’ri. Come, we must get you out of here. Ori soldiers have landed nearby.

(The group took Vala and started moving through the woods.)

VALA: Have you been able to get any ships off the planet?

TOK’RA: None. Every Tok’ra ship has been shot down by the Ori Armada. The High Councilor has ordered every Tok’ra to the city to make a final stand against the Ori. That is where we are going.

(They continue walking through the woods as battle raged above them in the air.)

UNKNOWN PLANET. SG-1 is hanging around the ruins while Jackson tried to decipher more of the writings.

JACOBSON: (over radio) Colonel Mitchell, come in please.

MITCHELL: (over radio) Go ahead, Jacobson.

JACOBSON: (over radio) We’ve just received a subspace communication from General Landry. He’s received a distress call from Vala. The Tok’ra are under attack. He’s been granted permission by the President to counter the Ori attack. We need you and SG-14 to return to the Odyssey immediately.

MITCHELL: (over radio) Copy. (to SG-1) Alright, you heard him, let’s get ready to beam up.

JACKSON: Hold on, there’s so much information here that I haven’t been able to decipher.

MITCHELL: Maybe some other time, Jackson. Right now we’ve got a battle to get to. (over radio) Alright, Jacobson, beam us up.

ONBOARD THE ODYSSEY. SG-1 and SG-14 appeared on the bridge. In the distance, a Jaffa Cargo ship arrived through a hyperspace window.

JACOBSON: Colonel Peters, you can take your men and get some rest. Teal’c, General Landry has requested that you take a cargo ship and meet with the Jaffa Council to ask for reinforcements.

TEAL’C: I will try.

(Teal’c exited the bridge.)

CARTER: How many Ori are at Olivos?

JACOBSON: Don’t know. Sounds like a full-scale attack.

CARTER: Are you sure the Odyssey can take on several Ori ships at once?

JACOBSON: We’re not going to be alone. The Heron is on her way as we speak. Not only that, but the President has given the order to rush in the first Triton-class battleships into action.

MITCHELL: Triton-class ships? You mean the Asgard class ships.

JACOBSON: Yes, each of those ships has been modified from construction with Asgard technology. It’s much better than the add-ons the Heron and Odyssey have.

JACKSON: How many Triton ships?

JACOBSON: Three. The Triton, Typhon, and Neptune. The Triton is, of course, the flagship. There’s also going to be a Korolev-class Russian ship, the Zashchitnick.

CARTER: Wow. Six ships.

JACOBSON: (nodding) Maybe this time we’ll have numbers on our side.

MITCHELL: If we can get there quick enough. Instead of rushing in and helping the Tok’ra we have to wait for the other ships to show up. We may not have that much time.

JACOBSON: The call went out when Stargate Command received the distress call. The delay on subspace communications could mean that the ships are already en route.

(As if on cue, five hyperspace windows appeared and the other ships arrive. The Heron looked familiar, but the Triton-class Battleships were twice the size of the Odyssey and had large wings on the side in remembrance of the Asgard ships. The Zashchitnick was a smaller craft like the Odyssey.)

SCIENCE OFFICER: Sir, we are receiving a transmission from the Heron. She has Jonas Quinn and Tomin onboard and they are requesting permission to beam aboard.

JACOBSON: Granted.

(On the bridge, Jonas and Tomin beam in.)

JACKSON: What are you guys doing here?

TOMIN: We managed to convince General Landry to let us in the fight. I wish to prove myself as a fighter against the Ori.

SCIENCE OFFICER: Everyone accounted for, sir. Sending out hyperspace coordinates to the fleet.

JACOBSON: Prep for jump and engage.

(The fleet opened a hyperspace window and one by one entered and left.)

TOK’RA HIGH COUNCIL COURTROOM. Vala is brought before a packed room full of Tok’ra warriors. In front, the Council is looking on. There are sounds of battle from outside.

PER’SUS: Vala, I thought you were in space? We feared the worst when we lost communications.

VALA: The Ori shot me down but I was able to get out alive.

PER’SUS: You are very fortunate.

(Another councilman started talking with Per’sus. Then, Per’sus put his hand in the air to silence the Tok’ra.)

PER’SUS: The Ori have landed an army to the south of us. They will be here in five minutes.

(There were murmurs throughout the crowd.)

TOK’RA: We should flee now, then!

PER’SUS: And go where? All of our escape vessels have been destroyed by the Ori.

TOK’RA: We can hide in the forests?

PER’SUS: Hide? That is not the way of a Tok’ra.

TOK’RA: Then we shall fight them to the death!

(Cheers went up in the courtroom.)

PER’SUS: (raising his hand again.) At any other moment, I would agree. But as High Councilor, my priority is the safety of our people as a race. Look around you now. In this room are the last remaining Tok’ra in the entire galaxy. We have been diminished from a powerful force to a remnant band of fighters. And now the Ori come to finish us off, and you wish to fight. (sighed) I wish it were that easy, my friends, my brothers. I understand your feelings, truly I do, however fighting is not the answer to this problem. We must accept Ori rule and surrender. Otherwise the Tok’ra will be wiped out of existence.

(More murmurs, then yells.)

TOK’RA: The Tok’ra bow to no one!

TOK’RA: I would rather die!

(There are blasts right outside the door. Everyone turned to the sounds. Suddenly, the door is blown open. Through the smoke, Prior Ademus walked into the packed room, alone. At his arrival, several Tok’ra, in furious rage, ran to kill him. Ademus raised his staff and the Tok’ra were thrown back through the air and slammed into the far wall. The rest of the room stared in silence, unable to do anything. Ademus looked around, then approaches the Council.)

ADEMUS: Tok’ra leaders, I give you this one chance to embrace Origin. Kneel before me and I will spare your lives. Reject this charity, and I will destroy you all here and now.

PER’SUS: The Tok’ra are a proud people, Prior. What promises do I have that you will not kill my people?

ADEMUS: A Prior of the Ori need not make any promises as his word is absolute. However, if you kneel before me now, I will remove my fleet from your planet and leave you to your people. Of course, there will be a Prior here to teach your people Origin and to lead you onto the Path.

PER’SUS: (pauses) Very well. Under these terms, I surrender Olivos to you. My people and I will embrace Origin.

ADEMUS: And you shall embrace Adria the Orici as your one true God.

PER’SUS: We do embrace her as our God.

(Ademus looks at Per’sus, excited at first, but then his smile slowly fades. He looks around the room.)

ADEMUS: If you so embrace the Orici as your one true God, then why do I feel resistance in this room? (He starts walking among the Tok’ra) Why do I feel that some of you resent my presence here?

PER’SUS: My people just need time to understand that the Path leads to Origin, my Lord.

ADEMUS: Indeed. (turns to the High Councilor) Your words are mixed, Per’sus. I know that you do this to save your people, and I understand it. Either way, it turns you all into followers of the Ori. However (starts walking again) your people do not fear for their lives or the lives of the Tok’ra as a race. I wonder if they would resist me once I am gone.

PER’SUS: You have my word there will be no resistance.

ADEMUS: For the time being, my word will be considered better than yours, High Councilor. (stops and stares at Vala, who has been avoiding the Prior’s gaze.) The Mother of the Orici. (turns to the Council) Why didn’t you say she was here?

PER’SUS: Forgive me, my Lord, I did not know you desired her.

ADEMUS: Do not lie to me, Per’sus. You knew she was here, yet you hide her. Why?

PER’SUS: I (hesitating) wished to use her as a tool to save my people. However, since your grace was so courteous I did not have to play that card. She is yours to have now, of course.

ADEMUS: Of course she is, I did not need you to tell me that. (turns to Vala and raises his staff. Vala flies towards the Prior and into his grasp.)

VALA: Let me go!

ADEMUS: The Mother of the Orici must be protected.

VALA: I’m fine by myself, but thanks for the concern.

ADEMUS: You will be taken back to the Ori Galaxy, where you shall be worshipped for the rest of your life. (Vala looked at the Council and remaining Tok’ra, but they look away, helpless to do anything.) Do not be afraid. I will beam you up to my ship and my faithful soldiers will make sure you are safe for the ride home.

(Vala and the Prior disappear in a white light, leaving the Tok’ra by themselves.)

ORBIT AROUND OLIVOS. By now, there are thirteen Ori ships taking up orbit around the planet. Behind the Ori ships, hyperspace windows open and the Tau’ri fleet arrived. The six Tau’ri ships open fire with Asgard beams and shatter the shields of two stationary Ori ships, their vessles turning into burning wreckage in space.

ONBOARD THE ODYSSEY. SG-1 is on the bridge.

MITCHELL: Good shot, Jacobson. Let’s take them all out.

JACOBSON: Fire again.

(The Odyssey fired again, destroying another Ori ship. Now, the Ori ships were turning towards the Tau’ri fleet.)

MITCHELL: Those Ori ships are large, slow, and bulky. We’ve got the smaller ships. Let’s use that to our advantage.

JACOBSON: (nods) (over radio) Fleet, this is Flagship Odyssey, evasive maneuvers. Let’s keep on the rear of those Ori ships.

ONBOARD THE ORI FLAGSHIP. Prior Ademus, three soldiers and Vala are moving along the ship. It shook as it was hit by a blast from one of the Tau’ri ships.

VALA: What’s going on?

ADEMUS: (closes his eyes) More ships have arrived. The Tok’ra have betrayed me even before I left their atmosphere! I shall destroy them all! (to the guards) Take her to a cell!

ORBIT AROUND OLIVOS. The Ori ships break off from the battle and head towards the planet, opening fire on the ground with their beam weapons. The Tau’ri vessels halt, confused.

ONBOARD THE ODYSSEY.

CARTER: What are they doing?

JACKSON: They’re firing on the planet.

JACOBSON: (over radio) All ships hold your positions.

OLIVOS. Ori ships flew over the Council Room, laying waste to it and the surrounding city. Three more cities are destroyed in a similar fashion.

ONBOARD THE ODYSSEY.

MITCHELL: Vala’s down there somewhere.

JACOBSON: Locate her tracking signal and beam her aboard.

SCIENCE OFFICER: (after a moment) I can’t lock onto her signal. Something’s blocking my attempts. It’s coming from one of the Ori ships.

MITCHELL: The Prior.

CARTER: Is the Anti-Prior weapon activated?

JACOBSON: Yes, it’s on all the time now.

MITCHELL: He was able to override the device?

CARTER: I don’t know, but if he was able to do that then he’s rendered our only weapon against the Priors inert.

JACOBSON: We’ve got another problem. The Ori ships are turning back towards us. They’re abandoning the planet.

CARTER: Are there any survivors down there?

JACOBSON: It’s too early to tell, Colonel. However, if there are survivors and Vala is down there then we can’t leave her.

SCIENCE OFFICER: The Ori ships will be in range in thirty seconds.

JACOBSON: Order the fleet to engage.

MITCHELL: Tell the fleet to launch the 302s. We’ll need them.

JACOBSON: Agreed, go.

(Mitchell hurried off the bridge.)

ORBIT AROUND OLIVOS. The Ori fleet opened fire, hitting the shields of three Tau’ri ships. The Tau’ri fleet returned fire, impacting the shields on a few Ori ships. The smaller Tau’ri vessels started to maneuver around the larger, Ori ships. From the Ori ships, Ori fighters by the dozens appeared. F-302s met them in space and lit up the sky.

ONBOARD THE HERON. Colonel Ramirez, Jonas Quinn, and Tomin are on the bridge. It was rocked by an Ori blast.

RAMIREZ: Take us out of their range. Launch the 302s.

SCIENCE OFFICER: Yes, ma’am. Shields down to seventy-five percent.

TOMIN: Colonel, I would like to take on the Ori fighters myself.

RAMIREZ: You want to pilot one of my 302s?

TOMIN: I am a good pilot and fighter, Colonel.

RAMIREZ: I have no doubt of your talents, Tomin, but I know of your past with the Ori. Given the circumstances, there is nothing to stop you from returning to them.

QUINN: You realize, Colonel, that Tomin was the one who alerted us to the problem with the stargate in the first place. Without his information we would have never known about the Ori Armada.

RAMIREZ: I understand Tomin’s contributions to the current situation, Jonas Quinn. However, our fighters have their own unique systems and require substantial training before flight.

TOMIN: I am a quick learner.

QUINN: We need every man we’ve got in the air.

(The ship was rocked by another blast.)

SCIENCE OFFICER: Shields down to fifty percent!

RAMIREZ: Alright, go.

(Tomin and Quinn rush from the bridge.)

HERON FIGHTER BAY. Tomin and Jonas prep for take-off. They enter their fighters and take off.

ODYSSEY FIGHTER BAY. Mitchell prepped for take-off and left the bay.

ORBIT AROUND OLIVOS. One of the Ori ships fired and the shields around the Neptune fail, causing fires to erupt on the hull.

ONBOARD THE ODYSSEY.

FRANKS: (over radio) Mayday, mayday! This is Colonel Franks of the Neptune. We are taking on atmosphere and cannot withstand another blast. We are moving away from the battle.

JACOBSON: (over radio) Tau’ri fleet, this is Colonel Jacobson. I’m ordering the Triton and Odyssey to fall back and guard the Neptune. The others will continue the battle.

RAMIREZ: (over radio) We can’t take on ten Ori ships by ourselves, Jacobson.

JACOBSON: (over radio) Hang in there until we find out what happened to Vala.

RAMIREZ: (over radio) Jacobson, the Tok’ra have been wiped out. It’s very likely that she was with them when it happened.

JACOBSON: (over radio) We’re not leaving until we find her, Colonel.

ONBOARD THE ORI FLAGSHIP. The ship was rocked by a blast. Vala, who had been walking down a hallway with three soldiers, was knocked into the wall. The other soldiers fall down as another blast hits the ship. Vala, sensing her chance, ran back down the hallway. One soldier stoodup and shot at her with his stun gun but missed.

ONBOARD MITCHELL’S F-302.

PILOT: (over radio) They’re going after the Neptune. She’s on fire and can’t take another hit.

MITCHELL: (over radio) Alright, all pilots move to defend the Neptune at all costs. We can’t afford to lose a ship.

(Fighting between Ori Fighters and F-302s became intense and explosions fill the air around the burning Neptune. Suddenly, the Heron moves forward, firing at an Ori ship. The Ori ship exploded in flames and the Heron flees, being chased by two more Ori ships who fire and miss. The Typhon fires at one of the chasing Ori ships, hitting the shields.)

ONBOARD THE ORI FLAGSHIP. Vala finds herself in the hangar bay of the Ori ship. In front of her are a dozen Ori Fighters, along with several Ori soldiers.

VALA: (whispers) I have to get off this ship.

(Alarms sounded in the ship and the soldiers ran off, probably to search for the escaped Vala. She made her way to one of the Ori Fighters and jumped into it.)

VALA: Alright, piece of cake. Now let’s get out of here. (She turned the fighter on and it hovers into the air and out of the hangar bay, wobbling up and down as it went.) Steady!

ONBOARD THE ODYSSEY.

MITCHELL: (over radio) Colonel Jacobson, they’re trying to take down the Neptune!

JACOBSON: (over radio) We’re trying to stop them, Mitchell.

(An Ori battleship made its way towards the burning Neptune. It is hit simultaneously by the Odyssey and the Triton and is destroyed.)

ORBIT AROUND OLIVOS. A hyperspace window opened and four more Ori ships arrive and start shooting.

ONBOARD THE ODYSSEY.

SCIENCE OFFICER: Sir, four more bogies just entered the battle.

ORBIT AROUND OLIVOS. Another hyperspace window opened and ten Jaffa Motherships arrive, opening fire on the Ori ships.

ONBOARD THE ODYSSEY. An image of Teal’c appears on the bridge.

TEAL’C: I hope we are not too late, Colonel Jacobson.

JACOBSON: Me either, Teal’c. But it looks like the Tok’ra were wiped out. We’re waiting to find Vala and one of our ships is critically damaged. Take up a perimeter around the Neptune and hold off the Ori ships.

TEAL’C: (nods) As you wish.

ORBIT AROUND OLIVOS. The Motherships and Ori start battling, gliders and Alkesh engaging the Ori Fighters, with the smaller fighters zooming between the bigger ships. Meanwhile, Vala’s fighter has moved into the battle and is shot at.

VALA: Quit shooting at me! I’m on your side! (looking at the controls) How do I put up the shields on this thing?

(Vala’s fighter moved away from the battle, but one of the F-302s spotted her and starts to follow.)

ONBOARD TOMIN’S F-302. Tomin has moved behind Vala’s fighter.

TOMIN: I am sorry about this my brother, but the Ori are false gods and you are helping them enslave this galaxy.

(He shoots, but at the same time his 302 is rocked by a blast of its own. The shot veers off course of Vala. Tomin looked behind him to spot another Ori fighter on his six. He stayed behind Vala, swerving to miss the shots of the Ori fighter behind him but also staying behind Vala. The Ori fighter shot again and Tomin swerved left. The shots missed the 302, flew past him and hit Vala’s fighter. Tomin looked on as the fighter started burning.)

ONBOARD VALA’S FIGHTER. Vala screamed as her fighter started to burn. Quickly, the entire fighter is engulfed in flames and it exploded.

ONBOARD THE ORI FLAGSHIP. The Prior is alone when Adria appeared before him.

ADEMUS: My apologies, Orici, but it was upon your orders that I let her go. This was not my doing.

ADRIA: Do not worry, Prior. You have been faithful to me for a long time. I am not upset, because this is exactly what I wanted.

ADEMUS: Forgive me, Orici, I do not understand.

ADRIA: You do not need to understand. Call of the attack. You have fulfilled your objectives today.

ADEMUS: (bowing) As you wish, Orici.

(Adria vanishes. Out in space, a hyperspace window appeared and the Ori fleet escaped.)

ONBOARD THE ODYSSEY.

SCIENCE OFFICER: Sir, the Ori fleet is fleeing the battle. The planet is ours.

JACOBSON: Scan for lifesigns.

SCIENCE OFFICER: Scanning. (after a moment) No life signs detected, sir. It appears the Ori annihilated the last Tok’ra.

JACOBSON: (pauses) No one is left?

SCIENCE OFFICER: No sir.

CARTER: What about Vala?
SCIENCE OFFICER: The Prior is no longer interfering with our signal. (types into the controls) No sign of her. She’s not on the planet.

JACKSON: Maybe she was onboard one of the Ori ships?

(No one speaks for a few seconds.)

JACOBSON: Get rescue teams to take out the fires on the Neptune. Come on, people, let’s move! We’ve still got work to do.

INSIDE A GOA’ULD TEMPLE ROOM. On the walls were golden ornaments and radiant symbols. Sitting in the back of the room on a golden throne and dressed in Goa’uld Goddess clothing is Vala Mal Doran. She is looking around at the room, somewhat startled. She looks down at herself and is trying to remember what happened. A figure appeared before her.

ADRIA: I never knew about your past, Mother. I find it intriguing that you once ruled over thousands of human slaves.

VALA: Adria? How did I get here?

ADRIA: You are at an impasse, Mother. You were shot out of the sky by one of your own people.

VALA: (pauses) I remember. I was in a ship. I … died.

ADRIA: You are not dead yet.

VALA: What do you mean?

ADRIA: I’ve given you the chance – well, I would hardly say chance since it isn’t that much of a choice – a chance to Ascend.

VALA: Ascend? Like an Ancient?

ADRIA: Like I am. Do not talk about the Ancients. They are nothing compared to me.

VALA: I thought you needed to find enlightenment like Daniel did to Ascend.

ADRIA: It would take you your entire natural life to Ascend by yourself. Even Daniel had help. And just like he had help to Ascend, so am I going to help you Ascend.

VALA: And why would you want to help me?

ADRIA: (smiles) You’re my mother. I can’t just sit back and watch you die.

VALA: Touching, Adria, but you and I both know better. You want me for something.

ADRIA: I’m offended that you would think that, mother.

VALA: Don’t play tricks with me. You want to use me for something.

ADRIA: What do I want to use you for?

VALA: I don’t know yet.

ADRIA: Even if what you say is true, can death really be that much better of an alternative than Ascension? Mother, I’m giving you the chance to continue living. I do not want to see my mother dead, no matter what you may think of me. Do you really consider me that cruel-hearted?

VALA: Maybe…

ADRIA: Mother, please. Let me help you Ascend.

VALA: (after a moment) If I do this, you know I still won’t help you.

ADRIA: Help me with what? You don’t even know what you’re talking about, Mother.

VALA: I know who you are, Adria. I know where you came from and who you serve. The Ori have come here to enslave the entire galaxy.

ADRIA: Let’s not talk about the Ori, mother. It is clear to me that I cannot change your opinion on the matter. Instead, let us talk together as mother and daughter. (holds out her hand) Give me your hand.

(Vala hesitates.)

VALA: I will not help you in your quest for domination, Adria.

ADRIA: I know. Give me your hand, mother, please.

(Slowly, Vala reached and took Adria’s hand. The two of them disappeared in white light, leaving the room empty.)
